A "tall 13-year-old" boy has been arrested in connection with nine home invasions in Pontiac and two in Detroit that targeted young girls, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said Friday. Some involved attacks.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said during a Friday press conference that the suspect was armed with a knife in at least three incidents and slipped in homes through open windows. The break-ins began in 2022 when the boy was only 10.

“This is the worst nightmare for any parent: that somebody might be trying to climb in through a window to get after their kids, especially a young teenage girl,” said Bouchard.

Each home had a young girl, but not all were attacked.

One mother told WDIV that the suspect attacked her 10-year-old daughter with a knife and the daughter started screaming. Another woman says the youth threatened her daughter with a knife and scissors and told her to remove her clothes.

Charges are pending. The boy is being held in at Children’s Village.
